Thus the compound synaptic potential decayed more slowly in the contralateral dendrites to the soma and the transverse segment on the midline (2.5 3.0 msec in Fig. 6A right column) whereas it decayed more rapidly later (>7.0 msec) in the fine dendritic terminals on the side ipsilateral to the soma (7.3 8.0 msec in Fig. 6A right) than the synaptic potential evoked in the uniform dendrites.
