The LFP underwent a negative-going deflection for the first 100 ms of laser stimulation, and spike rates significantly decreased.
Neurons were identified as PVs or SOMs if they responded to brief (5 ms) flashes of light with spikes within 1.5 4.5 ms of laser pulse onset.
To determine significant laser entrainment, a shuffling procedure was applied to spikes during individual laser cycles (20 ms of laser stimulation followed by 30 ms of no laser stimulation).
(g ) Mean spike rate and LFP locked to laser onset in channels with induced delta: the induced slow wave trough and phase-locked cortical inhibition are observed within 100 ms of laser onset.
Cortical activity is suppressed within 20 ms of laser onset, and the deflection in the LFP can be detected within 35 ms. This pattern suggests that tens of milliseconds of TRN activation are sufficient to inhibit thalamic input to cortex and produce a cortical OFF state.

To exclude direct responses, candidate EPSCs with their arrival times occurring within the direct response window (within 10 ms of the laser onset) are dismissed.
With this consideration, within 30 ms of the laser onset, candidate EPSCs are declared eligible only if the convolution traces remain below the outlier threshold, but exceed the detection threshold.
The scale of this microstructure can be varied via the laser deposition parameters and this, in turn, influences coercivity (Hc) and saturation magnetization (Ms) of these laser-deposited magnetic alloys.
The last term on the right-hand side of the above equation represents the mirror losses а m of the laser cavity.
This is consistent with the observation made previously when testing the effects of pulsing frequency, which indicated that cells do not appear to have a "memory" of previous exposures if the exposures are spaced by >100 ms. Another combination of laser CB interaction was examined employing moderate laser conditions.
