There are three main scientific challenges here: (a) identifying a minimal set of independent facial movements related to speech as well as facial expressions [8] (b) identifying the movement of fleshpoints that are poorly contrasted on the face: this is usually done by interpolating movements of robust fleshpoints (lips, nose, etc).
3D movements of facial fleshpoints are acquired using multicamera photogrammetry.
