It was adapted from the model of Nibouche et al. (2007) and specifically incorporated data on moth movement between non-cotton refuges and cotton fields obtained in this study.
Thus, a possible application of sensor networks, in a field with distributed points, is the tracking problem of a dynamic object movement between these distributed points on the field.
However, in legume fields, a high symmetrical movement (i.e. in both directions) of individuals of similar body condition between fields and natural habitat patches took place.
Our study addressed these problems by quantifying movement between all potential non-cotton hosts and cotton fields, in three contrasted agricultural landscapes before the commercial release of Bt cotton.
There were some interesting differences between fields.
Anolis sagrei are sedentary and very consistent in their use of habitat, and field observations indicate infrequent movement between alternative habitat types [ 19].
While herbicides are intended to kill weeds within crop fields, unintentional exposure at sub-lethal levels may result in the loss of species in wild and weedy habitats adjacent to crop fields, alter patterns of pollen movement between sexually compatible species, and change the relative contribution of different species to the seed bank [ 3, 6- 8].
NVIVO 9, a qualitative data management tool, was used by the main field researcher [ 42] and all data coded to nodes created iteratively with movement between the data set and nodes.
I also assessed individual landmark movement between habitat types by quantifying correlation coefficients between landmark positions and the habitat divergence vector scores of field-collected specimens.
The method used for interpreting the field notes and interview texts was influenced by Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic idea of a circular movement between 'understanding' and 'explaining' the text [ 35, 36].
