All is not lost: Jarvis Cocker has retained his subversive credentials with Running The World - and brought the c-word into play; Banksy has gatecrashed the music biz, with help from Danger Mouse, scoring a celebrity-baiting coup; and now the anti-war movement has given it a shot.
For each mouse, scores of each brain region were summed, and the resulting number represented the total damage score (DS).
Inclusion of a mouse scoring system in this overview was based on the fulfillment of six parameters.
In addition, histological evaluation revealed massive granulocyte infiltration, severe hemorrhage and alveolar edema in infected mice (score: 13.7 ± 0.3), whereas lungs from infected + PiMT animals showed merely slight changes (score: 2.0 ± 1.2, both mean ± s.e.m., n = 3) (Fig. 4h and Supplementary Fig. 4d).
The demyelination scores were significantly higher in untreated mice (score 2.8 ± 0.4) than in mice treated with the lower (score 1.8 ± 0.8, p < 0.01) or higher LAQ dose (score 0.6 ± 0.3, p < 0.001) (Fig. 2i).
However, macroscopic examination of the injected knees showed a significant reduction in joint inflammation in all mice of the LV-mIL-1Ra group (arbitrary score [0 3] 0.55 ± 0.37) as compared with the LV-Luc-treated mice (score 1.55 ± 0.53).
The enhanced phenotype observed in the DBA strain was not caused by exercise as the DBA mice scored the lowest in a voluntary activity test.
Development of weight-supported walking was similar in wild-type and Dmrt3−/− mice (Supplementary Fig. 3d, e), whereas limb coordination in neonatal mice, scored during air-stepping, was markedly different (Fig. 2g).
