To improve upon this, our colleagues have identified a short peptide sequence using a phage display library with a high affinity for a wide range of bladder cancer cells across multiple species including mouse, dog, and human, and with little affinity for normal bladder epithelia.
In our hands, highly sequence optimised AAV-MDs are available for use in mouse, dog and humans, expressed using a strong skeletal and cardiac muscle specific synthetic promoter, have been tested in detail in mdx mice, and in the GRMD dog.
Out of the 11 in our list, we find that 9 are conserved in human, mouse, dog and cow.
To this end, we repeated the searches with orthologs of the Pfam10∶22 dataset from mouse, dog and chicken.
