These biochemical tests include carbohydrates fermentation test, urease test, oxidase test, haemolysis of blood, catalase test, motility test and growth of pathogens on specific media etc. [ 29- 32].
All suspicious colonies were screened by Gram stain and motility testing and confirmed by gamma phage lysis and polymerase chain reaction (14 ).
A complicating factor here is the diagnosis of GERD which can be distinguished by a variety of modalities including therapeutic trial, endoscopy, esophageal acid and motility testing, and gastric emptying studies [ 35].
