Based on the relationship between the motifs, 7 motif groups were designated.

Seventeen motif groups are significantly enriched in the introns flanking alternate exons among the MASS genes as compared to the SASS genes (p < 1E-5, by Fisher's exact tests with Bonferroni corrections).
