There is increasing recognition of the role of environment in the etiology of neuropsychiatric disorders; in most instances such disorders arise through the interactions of genetic and environmental factors (reviewed in [17]).
Traumatic brain injury can result in severe motor speech disorders; dysarthria is the most common such disorder, accounting for roughly a third of all cases.
