Distal radius fractures are the most prevalent wrist fracture and are one of the most common fractures in both adults [1] and children [2,3].
Modeling results further demonstrated that chelate radionuclide dissociation reactions were most prevalent along fractures where accelerated weathering processes are expected to expose more primary minerals than the surrounding rock matrix.
Fractures considered for these analyses were those defined by Center and Eisman [ 18] as major fractures based on their associated mortality (hip, clinical spine, pelvic, multiple rib and proximal humerus), and the most prevalent minor osteoporotic fracture in our data (wrist/forearm).
In both groups, the most prevalent proximal femoral fractures were at the femoral neck (49.42% versus 42.38%, respectively) and subtrochanteric (45.93% versus 53.81%) sites.
It is of note that the impact of fear seems most prevalent at 12 months post fracture rather than in the more immediate post fracture period (eg, 2 months post fracture).
Among the various sites of fractures, elbow/forearm fractures were the most prevalent (43.8%), therefore further analyses were performed only in this group.
Fractures of the long bones (45%) were the most prevalent among the cases, followed by fractures of the small bones (32%) and fractures of the trunk (17%).
Mixed fractures were the most common in all groups except G6, in which adhesive fractures were most prevalent (Table 3).
The most prevalent comorbidities among the in-hospital hip fracture population were: diabetes (24.4%), pulmonary disease (22.4%), chronic heart failure (22%), anemia (21.9%) and dementia (13.8%) (Table 1).
Their study also showed that in child abuse cases, multiple rib fractures are more likely to be seen; posterior and lateral rib fractures (78%) were most prevalent, and 29% of the cases were the only skeletal finding.
