Transcription rates of the most interesting genes (considering their putative function) were quantified by Q-RT-PCR, which revealed a significant decrease in transcription of two candidates six days before bleaching.
The most interesting commonality among the 26 novel putative Cdc42 interactors is that none of them has any CRIB or CRIB-like moiety.
Some of the most interesting classified candidates from our screen include: NF1X, a putative redox sensitive transcription factor; cystatin c, a cysteine protease inhibitor; NDRG1, a regulatory target of retinoic acid and proto-oncogenes; and purpurin, a lipocalin with putative immune or photoregulatory function.
A number of putative receptors for prions have been reported, with one of the most interesting receptors being the 37 kDa laminin receptor precursor (LRP).

The most interesting cases of prophage-like ORFs in BBH clusters, and potentially related to bacterial pathogenicity, are the putative phage-related PI protein (Zonular occludens toxin- like protein) present in xop7, xap10 and xpd5 ; and the virulence-associated protein E, present in xfp5, xfp6, xpd8, xop6, xap8.
Supposedly, the most interesting promoters discovered by this approach control expression of a high-affinity glucose transporter, HGT1, and of a putative aldehyde dehydrogenase.
