We measure the information at each individual time point to find the most informative time interval.
This map emphasizes the most informative time-frequency points, reducing the space dimension in an optimally linear manner.
Other sampling times need to be explored to find the most informative time, especially if different hydrolytic conditions and feedstocks are used.
Decoding accuracy in Figure 3b was estimated for each condition by leave-one-out cross-validation, combining the arithmetic mean [Alexandre et al., 2001] of nine classifiers using the most informative time-frequency bin from each subject (nine bins indicated as white ticks in Fig. 3a).

Test-retest is most informative when the time interval chosen between the test and retest is appropriate for identifying stability in reference to the clinical trial protocol.
An overall analysis and an analysis of the most informative subgroup across three sampling times (before, 1 month, 3 months) were performed with Kruskal-Wallis.
