The pH of the sample proved to be the most influential variable during sample enrichment on the SPE cartridge.
The factor weights, or the loading of each MMP on PC1 and PC2 (Table 2.A) suggest that MMP 2, 8, and 9 were the most influential in separating arthritis samples (both OA and RA) from each other, as well as from normal and early OA synovial fluid samples, while MMP 1, 12, and 13 where the most influential in the vertical separation of RA synovial fluid samples from OA samples.
