Among the 2,904 unigenes assigned to the binding part, protein binding (679 unigenes) represented the most abundant classification, followed by ion binding (563 unigenes), ATP binding (521 unigenes), DNA binding (350 unigenes) and RNA binding (284 unigenes) (data not shown).

Indeed, we observe that the MLTreeMap classification appears somewhat more 'balanced' than the PCR-based classification (see Figure 3C: the two most abundant groups make up 88% in the PCR data, but only 67% in the MLTreeMap data).
Finally, 41 An. albimanus transcripts were annotated as Protein of Unknown Function DUF227 (IPR004119), which ranked among the top 20 most abundant annotated transcripts, whereas in An. gambiae this classification was ranked in the 69th place with 43 annotated proteins.
The taxonomic classification for the second and third most abundant OTUs were Agaricomycetes and Ascomycota fungi; however, none of the best alignments was to the Tricholomataceae family, indicating non- Mycena species of these two OTUs.

Based upon TF family classification and DEG screening, the ERF is the most abundant TF in family in S. caninervis [ 18], P. patens [ 15, 24] and B. argenteum.
Other land cover types were less important and the classification indicated that a considerable number of species, generally the most abundant, were not strongly related to any specific land cover type.
The genes were further classified into 20 categories according to KEGG Gene Ontology (KOG) classification scheme; among them, genes involved in carbohydrate metabolism are the most abundant (16%), followed by energy metabolism (10%), and amino acid metabolism (8%).
