PMC gray matter meshes were segmented from each subject morphological image and coregistered using the BrainVoyager QX high-resolution intersubject cortex alignment (see supplementary methods).

A perhaps more interesting possible cause for the volume disagreement in patient images, rather than potential methodological limitations, is if the morphological images and SPECT images do not reflect the same underlying volume.

When considering results in Fig. 7 of patient tumour volumes, where VOIs delineated manually in morphological images and VOIs obtained from 177Lu-DOTATATE therapy SPECT images are compared, the deviations for individual tumours are larger than deviations typically obtained for the simulated data sets, where SPECT-derived volumes are compared to true volumes.
