Kalligrammatids possess an extraordinary morphological breadth and panoply of adaptations during the mid-Mesozoic that highlight our conclusion that their evolutionary biology is much more complex than heretofore realized.
Our taxon sampling spanned the morphological breadth and habitat range of species in these two families, including 29 Asteraceae and 20 Fabaceae (Appendix 1).
