The use of the phrase "more unique" is technically correct, but it's frowned upon by most grammarians. It's considered to be an oxymoron, since something that is unique can't be "more unique" than something else. An example of when not to use "more unique": "This store offers more unique products than any other shop in town." Instead, you could say: "This store offers more distinctive products than any other shop in town."
