There were also more systemic reactions among participants aged 6 months to less than 5 years, with more irritability after either dose (45.6% v 35.5% for dose one; 48% v 28.4% for dose two) and more decreased feeding (40.6% v 29.9%) and decreased activity (31.9% v 17.3%) after dose two.
It may, however, predispose the individual to a more severe systemic reaction.
More recently, some foods primarily associated with OAS (e.g., peach and apple) have been found to also contain more stable allergens (lipid transfer proteins primarily) that can trigger more severe, systemic reactions (Ballmer-Weber, 2002).
More solicited systemic reactions were reported after the first CYD-TDV vaccination (45.9% [95% CI: 42.5, 49.2]) than after the placebo control (37.0% [31.5, 42.8]); reporting rates were similar after the second and third vaccinations (Fig. 2).
Our results suggest that the more severe the systemic reaction to the insult, the higher and the more prolonged the CRP levels.
HIT can manifest clinically in a number of ways: thrombocytopaenia, thrombosis, skin necrosis at heparin injection sites, venous limb gangrene and the more recently described acute systemic reaction 5 30 min following IV UFH bolus [ 9].
Although they are more sensitive, they are less specific, more difficult to interpret and more likely to precipitate a systemic reaction.
Many factors have been identified that may enhance the risk of a systemic reaction during immunotherapy or make such a reaction more severe (Table 1).
Systemic side-effects, however, primarily correlated with the degree of stratum corneum disruption (5) with six systemic allergic reactions after skin preparation by abrasion (n = 26; 23%) and only one systemic reaction after skin preparation by adhesive tape-stripping (n = 239, 0.4%), which was not more than in the placebo group (n = 277, 0.4%).
It may, rather, be something more systemic.
The second worry is more systemic.
