These tumors may be mounting a more successful immune response, given their improved outcome relative to Cluster 3. Cluster 1 also showed enrichment for several immune response pathways but most interestingly showed strong enrichment for the under-expression of the CC+ and ESC pathways indicating that cell proliferation is lowest in tumors within this cluster.
This could help to identify patient population most likely benefit from treatment and therefore increasing the chance for a more successful therapeutic response.
