Antimicrobial activity results indicated (Table 1) particularly; compounds q1, q16, q19 and q20 have shown more promising antimicrobial activity as compared to standard drugs norfloxacin (antibacterial) and fluconazole (antifungal) while other derivatives are moderately active.
Particularly, compounds 3, 13, 16, 17 and 18 have shown more promising antimicrobial activity as compared to standard drugs cefadroxil (antibacterial) and fluconazole (antifungal).
The more rigid high BET surface area PIM material P1 exhibits "open-pore" characteristics with much more promising electrocatalytic activity at Pd lamella within polymer pores.
Especially compounds 2c and 2j displayed the more promising insecticidal activity than their natural precursor, toosendanin, a commercial insecticide derived from Melia azedarach at 1 mg/mL.
Moreover, compounds 3b d (with EC50 values of 13.191, 13.441, and 13.191 g ai/ha, respectively) displayed more promising herbicidal activity against E. crus-galli than sulfentrazone (a commercial herbicide with an EC50 value of 15.606 g ai/ha).
Among all derivatives, 5m and 6k exhibited more promising insecticidal activity with the final mortality rates greater than 60%, when compared with their precursors (honokiol and magnolol) and the positive control, toosendanin.
To date, four agents have progressed to the market with two, temozolomide (I Temodal®) and 4-hydroxyandrostenedione (II Lentaron®), being particularly successful and many more showing promising activity in Phase I, II and III trials.
Among them, compounds 6 9 and 19 showed more promising and pronounced insecticidal activity than toosendanin, a commercial insecticide derived from Melia azedarach.
Among all the tested compounds, especially three esters of 2-chloropodophyllotoxin 8a, 8c, and 8g, and one intermediate 6 showed more promising and pronounced insecticidal activity than toosendanin, a commercial insecticide derived from Melia azedarach.
