This in turn suggests that the hypersensitivity of cancer cells to V-ATPase inhibitors should be due to a vulnerability in one or more of the many processes requiring the V-ATPase and that identifying these vulnerabilities might reveal therapeutic targets that can be exploited with fewer toxic effects on normal tissues.
