At more lenient thresholds (3 20% of test examples being called positive), PhyloP-SCORE outperforms the other three approaches.
The accuracy of the predictions made by these four measures of conservation are shown in Figure 3. PhastCons, the only measure that integrates signals from several consecutive positions, performs best for highly confident predictions (top 5% predicted as positive) but its accuracy decreases and quickly becomes worse than the other approaches at slightly more lenient thresholds.
This interaction demonstrated differential activity in the left insula (BA13) (x = −41 y = −4 z = 10) at a more lenient threshold (p<0.01) (Figure 3a).
A more lenient threshold also revealed increased putamen activation.
At this more lenient threshold, additional regional grey matter correlates were observed (Supplementary Fig. 2 and 3).
