He mentioned that Brian Leetch, the Rangers defenseman, had missed more than two months with an arm broken by the shot of Tampa Bay's Fredrik Modin.
For HP, a statistically significant decrease was observed at 24 months for the A arm (P value = 0.02) but not for the A+R arm (P value = 0.5) and was statistically significantly smaller for the A arm than the A+R arm (Wilcoxon test P value = 0.037; Figure 3).
We showed that patients with lung metastases, an erythrocyte sedimentation rate ⩽70 mm h−1, and neutrophil counts ⩽6000 μl−1 (group I) achieved a median OS of 22 months (arm A) and 18 months (arm B), whereas all other patients (group II) reached a median OS of 18 months (arm C) and 16 months (arm D), with no statistically significant differences.
Median duration of response for randomized patients with a response of CR or PR was 10.1 months in Arm A, 10.3 months in Arm B, and 13.1 months in Arm C (Table 4).
Likewise, the progression-free survival was similar in both arms (6.2 months in arm A, 6.8 months in arm B, P = 0.3127) suggesting that the two schedules have similar activity.
Subset analysis of OS and PFS indicated that the OS benefit of the dose escalation was more prominent in PS 0 1 patients (N=81, median 13.6 in Arm B vs 9.8 months in Arm A, HR 0.69, 95% CI 0.42 1.14, P=0.12) than in PS2 patients (interaction P=0.01, Figure 4), although the number of PS2 patients is very small (n=8).
Patients with non-methylated MGMT derived the greatest benefit after treatment with nimotuzumab: MOS, 19.6 months (arm A) vs 15.0 months (Arm B) [ 23].
Seven months later, searchers found an arm amid the rubble at ground zero.
Patients reached a median PFS of 5 months in arm A (3-year PFS: 8.8%) and 4 months in arm B (3-year PFS: 10.8%).
A 33 % reduction in the risk of event (HR = 0.67) is assumed under the H1 in arm B. This reduction is estimated based on an absolute gain of 8 months for median DDC (from 16 months in arm A to 24 months in arm B) and on an assumed exponential distribution of the DDC curves.
