It has been reported that PiCCO® monitoring with transpulmonary thermodilution may be compromised in patients receiving TH [ 37, 38].
Patients were consecutively included if they were intubated and MV and if monitoring with transpulmonary thermodilution technique was performed.
Recently, less invasive cardiovascular monitoring with transpulmonary thermodilution with the PiCCO system using a central venous line and an arterial thermodilution catheter got increasingly popular.
These data all highlight the importance of real-time CFI and ELWI monitoring with transpulmonary thermodilution, particularly in postoperative SAH patients with TCM, at least during the DCI risk period.

The aim of the present study was to compare the accuracy of CI by a new semi-invasive monitoring system with transpulmonary thermodilution before and after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).
All patients admitted with acute circulatory failure and monitored with a transpulmonary thermodilution device were included in our study.
Our aim was to show the feasibility of continuous monitoring with minimally invasive transpulmonary thermodilution (TPTD) in severely burned pediatric patients.
In the subgroup of patients with transpulmonary thermodilution (TPTD) monitoring (PiCCO device; Pulsion, Munich, Germany), predictive capabilities of ICG-PDR were compared with cardiac index (CI), extravascular lung water index (EVLWI), global end-diastolic volume index (GEDVI) and pulmonary vascular permeability index (PVPI).
The collected variables were: Ventilatory parameters, central venous pressure, 24 hours fluid balance and information related to hemodynamic monitoring by transpulmonary thermodilution with Picco® system (Pulse Contour Induced Cardiac Output).
In conclusion, we observed poor accuracy for the new pulse contour monitoring system before and after CPB compared with transpulmonary thermodilution in patients undergoing coronary artery surgery.
The patients received hemodynamic monitoring using transpulmonary thermodilution (PiCCO2, Pulsion Medical Systems, Germany) with measurement of mean arterial pressure, cardiac index (CI), central venous pressure, global end-diastolic volume index (GEDVI), systemic vascular resistance index and extravascular lung water index (EVLWI).
