Haemodynamic monitoring was done using a thermodilution pulmonary artery catheter with continuous cardiac output monitoring (Vigilance; Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA, USA).
Intervention: forced volume challenge combined with an active induced reduction of catecholamines to achieve an adequate fluid loading status guided by passive leg-raising test, course of central venous pressure and in 14 cases by hemodynamic monitoring (Vigilance II n = 12; Vigileo n = 2 (Edwards)).
During the recording session, we carefully monitored vigilance state of the mouse by visual inspection.
The value was displayed continuously on a continuous CO monitor (Vigilance CCO Monitor Edwards LifesciencesS.A..A., Horw, Switzerland).
The Swan-Ganz catheter was connected to the monitor Vigilance Edwards®, while the MostCare was connected to the patient's artery.
Mixed and hepatic venous saturations were displayed continuously on two continuous cardiac output monitors (Vigilance; Edwards Lifesciences LLC, Baxter, Irvine, CA, USA).
A volumetric pulmonary artery catheter (Edwards Combo V Catheter, Edwards Lifesciences LLC, Irvine, CA, USA) and cardiac output monitor (Vigilance, Edwards Lifesciences) were used to measure cardiac output, pulmonary artery pressures, and right ventricular ejection fraction and end-diastolic volume.
A 9 F arterial catheter was inserted into the right femoral artery and a pulmonary artery catheter (7.5 F Swan-Ganz CCOmbo catheter, Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA, USA) connected to an oximetry monitor (Vigilance, Edwards Critical-Care Division, Irvine, CA, USA) was inserted into the right internal jugular vein.
But it still takes monitoring and vigilance.
Afterwards patients are admitted to ICU continuing hemodynamic monitoring, neurologic vigilance, and vascular access care hourly.
A real-time system for monitoring driver vigilance using infrared images has been proposed in [8].
