Real-time measures of segregation: The third main initiative is to develop a new infrastructure for monitoring segregation.
This research group has three main research commitments: (a) monitoring segregation at the extremes; (b) charting the spatial distribution of the elderly poor; and (c) developing a new GPS-based infrastructure for measuring segregation.
Furthermore, chromosome missegregation was more pronounced in the absence of Snf2 and Mad2 as observed by monitoring segregation of CEN5 as an increase in the proportion of cells with DNA content other than 1 or 2C in FACS analysis.

One of the councilman's duties is to monitor segregation, to keep Boksburg white.
Segregation at the extremes: The first line of research addresses the need to better monitor segregation at the extremes, including (a) the possible rise of enclave-style segregation at the very top (the "one percent") and (b) the yet more troubling possibility of a resurgence of extreme segregation among the very poor.
Male Syx5AR113/CyO, Df 2L r10/CyO or IF/CyO mutants were crossed to female Armenia and visible Chromosome 2 markers were used to monitor segregation of Syx5AR113, Df 2L r10 and CyO.
We tested the function of the four phosphomutant forms of MEI-S332 in female meiosis by using nondisjunction tests to monitor segregation of the X chromosomes (Table 3 and Table 4).
Among the oocytes which could overcome the inhibition and enter MII, a few exhibited an interesting chromosome status in that all the homologous chromosomes were pulled into the PB as shown in Fig. 2Ec, indicating that Bub3 play a more important role in monitoring chromosome segregation than PBE, which could also explain why Bub3-RNAi did not advance the occurrence of PBE.
When directly monitoring the segregation of chromosome 2 in bub3Δ cells by using live-cell imaging, we observed only a slight increase in mis-segregation compared to wild-type cells (Fig 2B; Vanoosthuyse et al, 2004).
MAS allows the monitoring of segregation patterns of specific markers in the progeny, as well as the potential to identify genotypes with multiple loci at a relatively early stage.
The aim was to monitor the segregation of phosphorus and carbon through temperature ranges which offered the extremes of both solutes having long-range lattice mobility to that where only carbon was mobile.
