This study was conducted in two stages that included the same treatment and monitoring schedule in parallel for subjects with normal liver enzyme levels and without liver metastases (Cohort 1) and for subjects with liver metastases with either normal liver enzyme levels or mildly abnormal liver function (Cohort 2).
Our data suggest that either best practice is not followed 121, or that testing at 1 2 weeks fails to detect some patients who go on to develop thiazide-induced hyponatraemia 9 in which case changes in monitoring schedules might improve current practice.
