This initial work was funded in part by the Google Summer of Code program in 2007, and also resulted in the addition of several other features in the Avogadro library to support Kalzium and general visualization and editing of molecular structure (Figure 12). Our study revealed that in spite of substantial differences in molecular structure (Figure 6B), the intramolecular distance between the α1C subunit tails does not significantly depend on the type of Cavβ present.
