The molecular genotype of the isolates from both leg and brain biopsies show that the molecular profile based on multilocus sequence (MLS) analysis of both coding (MLST) and more variable noncoding (VNTR) markers is shared with only two clinical isolates (one from Australia, and the other from an organ transplant recipient in San Francisco, California) out of 85 VGI strains typed [10], [32].
In extension to the latter threshold based code, a non threshold based real time molecular profiling, based on mathematical theorems [19, 20], enables the investigator to directly visualise large multimolecular assemblies, e.g., associated with the basal lamina (Fig. 1a), or detect protein profiles that sharply distinguish between normal and diseased tissue at the same time [4] (Fig. 2).
Age-related differences in GBM tumors and HGGs are evident when considering molecular profiling studies based on global gene expression and copy number analysis [ 44, 51, 52].
Regardless of these clinicopathological features, it is reported that other gene expression profiles based on The Cancer Genome Atlas appear to be similar in patients with KRAS and NRAS mutant mCRC, suggesting that treatment selection based on molecular profile is important [ 30].

Molecular profiles were constructed based on the selected cell line's ability to express various markers of transformation (c-Neu, cyclinD1, p21, p27 waf)), cell status (VEGF, IGF-R, c-Met, CK19), invasiveness (MMPs -12 and -13) and inflammation (NFκB).
As a comprehensive molecular approach, gene expression profiling based on cDNA microarray is reportedly advantageous for discriminating between N0 and N+ patients, with clustering analysis of at least 100 to >1,500 metastasis-associated genes being employed [ 80, 81].
Overall, such "genomically informed cancer therapies" are proving far superior over non-targeted therapies and have prompted calls for reclassification of cancers based on molecular profiles and targets instead of being based on traditional histopathology and origin and opened the door for the Precision Medicine Initiative [ 15].
While neuroanatomical methods enable high-resolution mapping of neural circuitry, these approaches do not allow systematic molecular profiling of neurons based on their connectivity.
