To go from tool to module, we addressed curricular fit, training materials, pedagogical guidance, formative and summative assessments, and logistical support.
For the FCM module, we identified a training package developed by the Joint Uganda Malaria Training Program JUMPP) team, utilizing mRDT training guidelines and job aids adopted by Uganda's Ministry of Health (35).
All results are shown in Tables 1, 2 and 3. Compared to the group who received an additional BLS training module, we found that the group with BLS training from the driver's education course was more willing to follow dispatchers' instructions by telephone to perform CPR (67% vs. 54%; p < 0.05) and less willing to take BLS training, especially in course form (p < 0.001) (Table 1).
At the end of every training module, we assessed the trainees on the following-their knowledge regarding and understanding of topics, communication skills, overall participation and team skills, through a combination of assessment methods-written tests, role plays and oral quizzes, and selected only the ones showing the most rigorous performance.
