The simulation-based module, called the fire simulation module (FSM), includes state-of-the-art models of fire initiation, fire progression, post-fire failure damage propagation, fire brigade response, and scenario-based damage.
In each module, the grid firing fields (i.e., the connected spatial regions that evoke firing) are compact (with a diameter denoted l i ) after thresholding for activity above the noise level (see, e.g., Hafting et al., 2005).

The neural code in each of these modules consists essentially of the firing pattern of the excitatory population, where mainly it is the subset of active neurons that codes the contents to be represented.
Although the precise source of ignition was never found, it soon became clear that an electrical short somewhere in the command module had started the fire, probably sparked by a chafed wire.
These units are separated from the command module by firing explosive bolts that cut the connecting panels.
The modules fire up when the system detects movement, syncing with a connected handset.
In the mEC at least, they appear to be clustered into functional modules — the grid-like firing of neighbouring cells share the same orientation and scale, such that their spatial correlates are effectively translations of one another [4,37,38].
The Soyuz descent module was designed to separate from the instrument module and fire small retrofire rockets to reenter the atmosphere.
