After major extracardiac hemolymph flow lines in the abdominal hemocoel were qualitatively identified, 60-second videos of the abdomens of 10 mosquitoes were acquired for each positioning system, and the trajectory of particles in major flow lines of the lateral and ventral abdomen were quantitatively tracked using the manual feature of the Object Tracking module of NIS-Elements.
As shown in Figure 7B, while the canonical motif is practically predominant in the modules of Ty3/Gypsy elements of plants and fungi, the modules of bilateria Ty3/Gypsy LTR retroelements are rich in motif polymorphisms (canonical motif included).
It was revealed that while orthologs shared very similar basal developmental programming by virtue of highly conserved 'core modules' of cis-elements, they also exhibit unique cis-element footprints hypothesized to act as 'regulatory fine tuners' in conjunction with the 'core modules'.
The movies were subsequently analyzed with the STORM module of the NIS element Nikon software.
The Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated using the built-in colocalization analysis module of the NIS-Elements AR software.
For example (Table 2), Arid1a, Abcg1, and Sgpl1 are members of a K-clustered set of immune genes and share a phylogenetically conserved module of 5 cis-elements: AP2F EGRF MAZF SP1F and ZBPF, all within a 200 bp interval.
Examples of modules of cis-elements are shown in Table 2. Abcg1andAbcg1 and Sgpl1 are most similar to one another.
MaxMod leverages on a greedy optimization algorithm that starts by modules of one element, i.e. each node, and iterates a merging process designed to join the module pair whose amalgamation creates the largest modularity increase (see Figure 1).
It is clear, however, that although modules of cis-elements that regulate expression of genes in tissues can occur at many different locations relative to a gene's promoter, at least some regulatory elements are located within promoter regions and this is the region we have searched most intensively for conservation of known TF binding sites.
A module consists of a choice of ring, another set, usually distinct from the underlying set of the ring and called the underlying set of the module, an operation on pairs of elements of the underlying set of the module, and an operation which takes an element of the ring and an element of the module and returns an element of the module.
