As a common attribute of predator prey interactions, TMIIs have significant trophic effects that change species interaction strength, modify community structure and influence population dynamics (Schmitz et al. 2004; Preisser et al. 2005).
Consequences of this common and now well-studied phenomenon include, amongst others, modified community composition and structure, smaller population sizes and decreased population connectivity [ 1].
