Also planned are a "high-level meeting with members of the American Association of Universities" and other efforts to "encourage … university deans, provosts, and presidents to contribute to solutions, whether by modifying training programs, restricting growth and expenses, or attempting to reshape the research environment in which their faculty and trainees work".
Three training issues addressed within the body of this paper are: modifying the training program to fit a variety of training needs and audiences; keeping the training program current; and designing a program that grows with an individual.
