Alterations in Gs and Gm with elevation did not significantly affect Pi/ Pa or Pc/ Pa ratios in any of the species analysed (Table 1), suggesting modification of the photosynthetic physiology alongside adjustment in conductance to CO2 (Figs 1 and 2).
