Synthesis of AHAC was carried out with suitable modification explained by (Ganvir and Das 2011).
The travel-time fit for this model was as good as that of the original model, indicating that both the original model for line SPr2 and the final modification explain the observed data, but that the final modification provided an even more reasonable model because the modeled structures on both lines at the intersection point were identical.
The data pertain to three and four alleles at the major histocompatibility loci HLA-A and HLA-B respectively; the data, after a modification explained subsequently, are shown in Table 2. Frankham et al. (2010) presented only the data for these alleles, yet there are many more variants at these loci.

It is also important to mention that the combinatorial patterns of bivalency might simply reflect allelic differences in chromatin modifications, explaining the apparent coexistence of both histone marks at the same loci, as shown in Figure 3C.
We also established confident assignment of number and type(s) of modification to explain observed mass shifts in an additional 239 MS/MS spectra (i.e., ~6% of modification-containing spectra); however site(s) of modification could not be unambiguously derived from spectral evidence (Additional file 3 Table S5C).
It also requires modification to explain why the spectral (light-absorption) and magnetic properties of coordinated metal ions generally differ from those of the free ions and why, for a given metal ion, these properties depend on the nature of the ligands.
