Portugal issued six-month paper earlier this month at a modest yield of 1.95%; this week's decision by Moody's to downgrade the country caused few ripples.
The Cu DEA 2 was superior to Cu OAc 2 (Scheme 5; see entry 4), and the addition of Cu DEA 2 but not KOAc provided only a modest yield of 4 b (entry 5).
Coupling of 5 with 11 also gave a modest yield of products (Entry 6), whereas less reactive, armed 6 led to good yields of Ara4N-Kdo and Ara4N-Ko glycosides albeit with no improvement in anomeric selectivity (Entry 7).

The climate of the highlands is severe and wet, supporting only modest yields of rye, oats, and potatoes produced on small valley farms.
Recombinant production has been studied in filamentous fungi (Conesa et al.2000 Irie et al.2001 Li et al.2001 Mayfield et al.1994 Stewart et al.1996), yeasts (Jiang et al.2008a), bacterial (Whitwam &Tien 1996) and insect (Johnson et al.1992; Pease et al.1991) hosts with successful production but modest yields of active enzyme.
After unsuccessful attempts by Italian chemists Brugnatelli and Fontana in 1826, Joseph Buchner obtained relatively pure salicin crystals in 1828; the following year, Henri Leroux developed a better procedure for extracting modest yields of salicin.
However, the corresponding iodide and triflate substrates gave only modest yields of 4 (entries 3 and 4).
Under normal reaction conditions, modest yields of the desired product could be obtained, albeit accompanied by significant levels of non-selective degradation of the substrate.
In our hands, the protocol gave modest yields of the corresponding TMS-substituted ynamides (40 47 %); subsequent desilylation and Sonogashira coupling afforded aryl-substituted ynamides 3 n– q.
This region is often cited as one of the most erosive landscapes identified globally, with annual yields of 20,000 to 40,000 t km−2 (World Bank 1998; USAID 1998), although Cox and others (2009) suggest more modest yields of 32 t km−2 y−1 estimated from cosmogenic Be data of river sediments.
Only a handful of investigations into this relatively new area of hPSC bioprocess research have been published and these are summarised in Table 4. Early investigations incorporating expansion and differentiation focused on overcoming the technical hurdles of carrying out two different operations in one integrated process step; as such only modest yields of target cells were achieved [ 74].
