A metal nanodisc not only allows the coexistence of plasmonic resonances at all dimension levels, i.e., the volume, surface, and edge plasmonics [6, 7] but also possesses various types of surface plasmonic modes with well-defined two dimensional symmetries [8 10], in particular the interesting case of the plasmonic breathing modes [6, 7, 10].
This smooth peak is a result of quenching and does not correspond to propagating modes with a well-defined dispersion.
