Section 2 focused on communication activities and consisted of six subsections: (a) Communicative modes, (b) Communicative functions – expressive, (c) Communicative functions – social, (d) Communicative functions – receptive, (e) Communicative effectiveness, and (f) Personal factors.
Under a given pumping power constraint (PRe3), the ¯¯¯¯¯Nu of the system with ribs (modes B and C) generally exceeds that without ribs (mode A), while the difference between the values of ¯¯¯¯¯Nu in modes B and A slowly falls as PRe3 increases.
Mode B contains an outlier in the trend, which could be a consequence of the integrated impact of western modern and post-modern ideas and Chinese traditions.

Binding mode B was previously crystallized for a homologous Ct-Doc (Carvalho et al., 2003).
As there is only one direct successor of mode A in the spanning tree, the FindMappingMin procedure is executed for mode B. In this procedure, a Pareto frontier between schedulable mappings in mode B minimizing energy dissipation in B and the amount of data to be transferred during mode switching from A to B is determined.
