Preferences were assessed on a five-point scale (1 = no need, 2 = low need, 3 = indifferent, 4 = moderate need, and 5 = high need).
With every topic, the information need was scored on a five-point Likert scale: 1 = no need, 2 = low need, 3 = indifferent, 4 = moderate need, and 5 = high need.
For each item, respondents indicate their level of need for help over the last month as a result of having cancer on a five point Likert scale with the following response options: 1 = no need, not applicable; 2 = no need, satisfied; 3 = low need; 4 = moderate need; and 5 = high need.
All other participants were considered moderate needs and those randomized to the intervention group received HF with Intensive Case Management (HF-ICM).
A pragmatic, mixed methods, multi-site field trial of the effectiveness of Housing First in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Moncton, is randomising approximately 2500 participants, stratified by high and moderate need levels, into intervention and treatment as usual groups.
To determine the extent of unmet need within each domain (except the prostate domain), a numeric score was attributed to each category of need (low need scored 1, moderate need scored 2 and high need scored 3) and a mean value calculated.
Results are summarised in table 2. Using the dental health component, two thirds of children (68%) had no need for treatment, 17% had moderate need for treatment and 15% had definite need for treatment.
For each of three ADL questions (eating, toileting, and transferring) in the OSCAR, we assign a score from 0 to 3 by using no assistance, moderate need for assistance, and high degree of need for assistance, respectively.
To identify the domains in which the women had current needs, we recoded the data so that scores indicative of past need, not applicable, or no need were scored 0, low need scored 1, moderate need scored 2, and high need scored 3. We then performed factor analysis on the 60 applicable items from the lymphoedema needs questionnaire.
Within each of the high and moderate need groups, participant data will be clustered within site and over time.
The advantage of a TOF-MS for space research is its fairly simple and robust mechanical design and its moderate need for resources.
