We shall use the four category system (i.e. dead, permanent disability, moderate disability, minimal effect) proposed by Hoonhout and colleagues [ 28].
There is no single end-point that adequately and unproblematically captures the effectiveness of the intervention; we therefore plan to observe changes in error rates and adverse events in four error categories (death, permanent disability, moderate disability, minimal effect).
The remaining 3 points on this scale were severe disability, moderate disability, and good outcome.
Interestingly one study suggest a long-term placebo effect in chronic tension type headache in patients with a moderate disability or with a low initial anxio-depressive level, and in migraine patient with an optimal attack control.
The report described the injury as a less severe "moderate" disability.
(2) Functional disability score: assessed using a scale of 1 5 (1 = complete immobilisation, 2 = severe disability, 3 = moderate disability, 4 = slight disability, 5 = no disability).
At discharge, 11 patients had good functional status, 2 had moderate disability and 2 severe disability.
Grade 1 (scores 0 5) = little or no disability; grade 2 (scores 6 10) = mild disability; grade 3 (scores 11 20) = moderate disability; grade 4 (score ≥ 21) = severe disability [14].
The MIDAS scores showed that 13 patients (24.1%) had minimal disability, 8 (14.8%) patients had mild disability, 16 (29.6%) had moderate disability and 17 (31.5%) had severe disability (Table 2).
Summing these individual values yields a total disability score, which correspond to four severity level: 0 5, little or no disability; 6 10, mild disability; 11 20, moderate disability; 21 or above, severe disability.
