It is also useful in detecting moderate-sized deletions such as those causing Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by a rounded face, low forehead, and intellectual disability.
The density in these arrays is probably too low to detect moderate-sized deletions using the population-level approaches applied to human data.
Moreover, one of the assembled perA gene copies from FaTG-2, FaTG-3 and UNS genomes revealed a common variant structure based on large- to moderate-sized deletions (coordinates 1251-1878 bp and 4590-4918 bp; Figure 1).
