The estimated data vector (varvec{G} varvec{theta })) was calculated by a forward model with fault parameter (varvec{theta }) under an elastic half-space medium.

The top two panels show the fault models with two fault planes, one having a strike angle of 205° and the other having a strike angle of 232°.
Thus, the obvious turbidites T3 in the two cores may suggest that the fault models with a fault length of 300 km or longer are more probable for the 869 earthquake.

Yoshida et al. (2016) used strong-motion data from 22 stations of K-NET and KiK-net, and an assumed fault model with four fault segments of different strikes and dips: one (Seg. 1) along the Hinagu fault zone, another (Seg. 2) along a plane connecting the Futagawa and Hinagu fault zones, and two more (Seg. 3 and Seg. 4) along the Futagawa fault zone, as shown in Fig. 1a.
Based on these results, we manufactured the 6.9 kV/2.3 kV 400 kVA-class YBCO model transformer with fault current limiting function and performed short-circuit test.
Process models are constructed and integrated with fault models, which are formulated in qualitative manner using fault semantic networks (FSN).
Despite the simple fault models with uniform slips on planar faults, our fault models are able to reconcile the spatial pattern of displacement distribution well, suggesting that the derived fault models macroscopically pick up the nature of the source.
In terms of the 869 earthquake, 300 and 400 km long fault models have been assumed in addition to the model with a fault length of 200 km, for a uniform-slip model (Namegaya and Satake 2014; Fig. 1A).
