This 120-gene signature appears to be relatively specific to molecular dysregulation induced by SV40-T/t antigen and is less represented in mammary tumors induced by other oncogenic mechanisms, although other models with basal-like characteristics – Brca1co/co, MMTV-Cre, p53+/-, and p53fl/fl MMTV-Cre – overlap in significant aspects of this signature [ 7].
Identifying individual or combination therapies that can inhibit this subtype of breast cancer using the C3(1)/Tag or other models with basal-type characteristics – BRCA1-/-, p53+/-, or p53-/ models – would provide an extremely important advance in treating this aggressive form of the disease.
That is, models that included diameter and height out-performed models with crown basal area had the highest precision, while model type IV using crown basal area (CBA) as a parameter showed the lowest goodness of fit because CBA can be influenced by volume, planting distance and space, or pollarding.
The serpentinized forearc wedge for the slab-gap model with initial basal temperature of 1,400°C (not shown) loses most of its water by 5 Ma and yet continues releasing some water to 10 Ma.

These dramatic differences could be due to cellular context, because much of our work was performed in the PMC42 model system, which clusters with Basal A/Basal breast cancer cell lines (T. Blick, E. Tomascovic-Crook, unpublished data).
