Under a minority-group model, these measures are dictated primarily by a demand for recognition, and for the correction of past misrecognition – the deliberate and negligent exclusion of people with disabilities from every aspect of social, political, and economic life.
Although the increased number of animals and the analysis of all lung lobes adds to the difficulty of working with this animal model, these measures mitigate intra-animal variability due to the unequal distribution of lesions and greatly improve experimental reproducibility.
