In the final interview (n = 6), the participants stated that the use of SD had contributed to an explicit description of stroke care and that the modelling process had made tacit knowledge more evident.
The modelling process had three main stages: (i) selection of mouse genotypes with retinotopic map data; (ii) selection of models from the literature to test against the data, and (iii) simulation of these models and comparison with the data.
For example, had all evidence been available as AD, the modelling process would have been limited to the specification of uniparametric distributions for time to healing i.e. the Exponential, with constant healing hazard over time [ 5, 14, 15].
Voxels that did not enhance and those enhancing voxels that failed the modelling process or had values >5.0 min−1 were excluded from analysis.
In some cases, this process has been studied structurally [ 15- 17] and by mathematical modelling [ 18, 19].
Model calibration remains a critical step in the modelling process and different approaches have been taken to develop guidelines to support engineers and scientists in this task.
