For isoform expression-level estimation, we are interested in inferring the values of the model parameters θ=[θ0, θ1,…, θ M ].
First order exponential decays in Fig. 3D and Fig. 4 were fitted based on three model parameters: initial level (t = 0), steady state level (t→∞), and half-time (t1/2).
Specifically, in hierarchical models, there are two kinds of parameters: (1) group-level parameters (monothetic patterns) and (2) individual-level parameters (idiographic patterns) that are constrained by the group-level parameters (Morey, Pratte, & Rouder, 2008; Nilsson, Rieskamp, & Wagenmakers, 2011).
To evaluate the predictive ability and fitting level of the model, the parameters R2Y and Q2 were applied.
