The literature survey was augmented using online computerized database like Taylor and Francis, Science Direct, Google Scholar, Bing, etc. using primary keywords such as just-in-time (JIT), Lean, Lean supply, JIT manufacturing, ISM, automotive, automotive components, etc. and secondary key words like practices, benchmarking, modeling, framework, etc.

If, for example, a model specification does not provide information about the intended modelling framework (like discrete and continuous) the specification of the formal system is incomplete (see [ 11]).
In the meantime, its core philosophy remains very old, advocating that everyone should be writing codes of his or her own simulation models in order to explore highly unique, novel modeling frameworks and analysis methods, just like what complex systems researchers used to do in the twentieth century.

These features turn ontologies useful for representing the knowledge of software engineering techniques and methodologies, and an appropriate abstraction mechanism for the specification of high-level reusable software artifacts like domain models, frameworks and software patterns.
