Mechanistic studies evaluating such model predictions are, however, rare but crucial for our understanding of food web dynamics [24], [25], [26].
The model predictions were however, based on the possibility that new vent sites could occur across physical barriers such as transform faults.
The presence of complex regulatory processes described above, and the abnormal differentiation programs adopted by keratinocytes in vitro [ 39– 41], make it difficult to test model predictions directly; however, transgenic mice with modified signaling components under inducible expression within the epidermis may be useful for testing such mechanisms [ 17, 61].
All models indicated good predictions, however, the ANFIS models were more precise compared to the RSM model, which proves that the ANFIS is a powerful tool for modeling and optimizing FAME production in ultrasound reactor.
The model prediction was, however, relatively insensitive to changes in the population sizes: The N1m responses to the probes in the left hemifield arose mainly from neurons tuned to the left hemifield while the contribution of those tuned to the right was very small (Fig. 6).
However, for model predictions, there are still demands for methodology that is applicable for mathematical models like ordinary differential equations (ODEs) used to describe the dynamics of a system in a variety of scientific fields e.g. in molecular biology [ 7, 8], but also in medical research, chemistry, engineering, and physics.
For Plot 2 the two models have similar predictions; however, neither reflect the observed plot trajectory very well.
The advantage of the OLAP tool (compared with a purely model based prediction), however, is that this limitation is transparent to the user (figure 1).
However, model predictions have an inherent uncertainty (i.e. prediction uncertainty) originating from uncertainty in input data, model parameters, model structure, boundary conditions and software.
