Hypothetical patients in the model began each month either taking or not taking appropriate medications, and then experienced events during the month with probabilities that depended on whether or not they were taking medications.
BTHM concentrations in residential water were estimated based on the residential water supply zone, and individual residential concentrations of BTHM (micrograms per liter of residential water) were predicted using generalized additive models for each month of pregnancy.
